February courses from the GEAPS/K-State Distance Education Program are now open for registration. The courses run Feb. 10-March 14.
GEAPS 521: Aeration Systems Design & Fan Operational Management gives a look at the basic principles of designing and operating grain aeration systems to successfully maintain grain quality during storage. Students will learn to calculate and develop strategies for aeration system design and fan operational management.
Requirement for the Specialist Credential in Grain Quality Management
GEAPS 530: Quality Management Systems for Bulk Materials Handling Operations outlines strategies for QMS creation, implementation and management. Upon completion, participants will be able to do a basic quality analysis of their operation and know how to create a food safety plan and quality management system.
Requirement for the Credential in Grain Operations Management (CGOM)
GEAPS 542: Electrical Safety for Grain Facilities will familiarize students with lighting and motor standards, electrical safety requirements, who creates the standards and why they exist. Participants will learn how to perform an audit, identify the classifications in their facility, hire qualified electrical contractors and more.
