Vote for International and Associate Board Leaders

It is time to elect new leaders for the International and Associate boards. A number of qualified candidates have been identified, and voting will take place online. All active Regular and Associate members will receive an online ballot with voting instructions via email in December. The deadline to vote is Monday, Jan. 19.

The International and Associates Board nominations committees have identified 12 candidates to consider for Board leadership this year. Four members are running for four open positions on the International Board, and eight members are running for three positions on the Associates Board. The following pages include profiles of all candidates.

GEAPS will announce International Board election results at the Annual Meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at Exchange 2015 in St. Louis. Associates Board director election results will be announced during the Associate members meeting Monday, Feb. 23 at the Exchange.

International Board Vacancies

Three director spots on the International Board become available at Exchange 2015. International candidates will fill positions currently held by Steve Myers, Bunge Milling, Kansas City; Barb Quandt, West Central, Greater Iowa; and Robert Taylor, Cargill Inc., Minneapolis.

Many incumbent directors will continue to serve on the board, including: Jacob Elder, Perdue AgriBusiness, Mid-Atlantic; Barbara Grove, Farmway Cooperative, Great Plains; David Marr, Michigan Agricultural Commodities, Michigan/So. Ontario; Kris Smelser, MillerCoors, Intermountain, Tom Winkel, MaxYield Cooperative, North Iowa, and Mark “Buzz” Tourangeau, Tate & Lyle Grain Inc., Cornbelt.

As usual, the second vice president seat becomes available at the Exchange as officers succeed to new positions. Barbara Quandt, HR director at West Central and current International Board director is running unopposed for the position of second vice president. If elected, Quandt will be on track to become International president in 2017-2018.

Incumbent officers who will continue to serve for 2015-2016 are Jim Jundt, Pacific Ethanol Columbia LLC, Inland Empire, as International board chair, Matthew Kerrigan, Bunge North America, Gulf South, as president, and Marcus Neal, Lansing Trade Group, Kansas City, as first vice president.

Associates Board Vacancies

Four director seats will open on the Associates Board in February as well. Associate member candidates will fill positions currently held by Ross Carlson, Chief Agri Industrial Div, Minneapolis; Janice Kantola, Argonics, Michigan/So. Ontario; Kent Mellen, BM&M Screening Solutions, Minneapolis; Greg Van Sickle, TSGC, North Iowa.

Incumbent Associate Board directors who will continue to serve are: Rick Fifer, 4B Components, Ltd., Cornbelt; Cheryl Lansink, Comco, Siouxland; Colin McClure, PMI Nebraska LLC, Greater Nebraska; Todd Morey, AIRLANCO, Kansas City; Wade Spencer, Maxi-Lift, Inc. Great Plains; Daryl Watts, RCI Safety, North Iowa; Ed Zdrojewski, Grain Journal, Cornbelt; Darren Zink, Brock Grain Systems, Hoosier.

Incumbent Associates Board officers who will continue to serve are Associates Board President Bob Klare, River Consulting, Gulf South, as immediate past president; Jeff Roumph, WD Patterson Co. Inc., Kansas City, as president; and Colin McClure, PMI Nebraska Inc., Greater Nebraska as vice president.
