Remaining Exhibit Space at Exchange 2009 Is Going Fast!

While the main expo hall is currently sold-out, there are only nine exhibit spaces still available in our Annex (see annex floor plan). With an Annex sell-out closer than ever, Exchange 2009 is shaping up to be even bigger than last year's big show in Omaha. Space is available on a first-come first-serve basis, so complete the Exhibit Space contract and send it to Adrianne at the GEAPS office as soon as possible. About The Expo Annex
- Ceiling Height is 14 feet
- Maximum floor load is 200 lbs per square foot.
- A floor cover will be required under large pieces of equipment.
- Motorized fork lifts are not allowed in the Annex, but hand carts are acceptable.
- Lunch will be served in the Annex just as in the main expo hall.
- Food and beverage will be served in the Annex during the Opening Reception just as in the main expo hall.
Main Expo Hall For 2009 Sells Out At Exchange 2008
There was a lot of talk at Exchange 2008 about GEAPS’ biggest Expo ever—and by the end of the Exchange another record had been added to an already impressive list: the first-ever early Exchange booth sell-out. (See the 2009 floor plan.) All available booth space for Exchange 2009 at the America's Center in downtown St. Louis was reserved before Exchange 2008 had come to an end. While this is the first time in GEAPS history that an early sell-out has occurred, it is possible every year.
Each year, GEAPS uses its priority list of exhibitors to determine the order in which companies can register for the following year’s Exchange. Being on the priority list allows an exhibitor to be among the first to choose exhibit space for the next Exchange in a given year; after priority registration ends, GEAPS traditionally offers remaining space to the industry at large. Many factors determine which companies qualify as priority exhibitors as well as a company’s rank within that group. Priority booth sales are limited to companies who have previously exhibited at an Exchange; then, during the final few hours of an Exchange, booth sales are opened to new exhibitors and other companies not on the priority list.
Priority exhibitors must state at the time of purchase how many 10’x10’ Expo hall booths they wish to contract. If their desired space is more than 20’x20’ special consideration must be made; multiple-booth bookings can ultimately lower the total number of exhibitors. Additionally, exhibiting companies must employ at least one GEAPS member. If not, there is an additional cost per 10’x10’ booth space. A down payment at the time of purchase is also required to make a booth contract valid.
As in previous years, GEAPS had planned to begin taking general reservations on a first-come, first-served basis after Exchange 2008 ended. However, as booth space sold out to so quickly during priority sales, GEAPS is working hard to investigate options for expansion (see page 15). While Exchange 2009 may not set a new record for the number of exhibitor booths, it will offer the great selection of Expo offerings GEAPS members have come to expect.
