OMT Seminar Designed For (And By) Professionals In Safety, Security, Health & Environmental Quality

Key and current topics relating to industry safety, security, health and environmental quality will get a thorough review at our Operations, Management and Technology set for Aug. 1-2 in St. Louis.

The program, to include eight education sessions, is being offered jointly by GEAPS and the National Grain & Feed Assn. The entire seminar is designed to provide accurate, practical and timely information.

“This program was very carefully designed to provide information that professionals can take home and put to use on the job,” said Gary Kearn, seminar chairman. “We’re going to be discussing topics that people in safety, health and environmental quality deal with on a regular basis—or are soon going to be facing.”

“I have no doubt that over the course of two days, you will significantly improve your ability to carry out your responsibilities at work,” said GEAPS International Board Chairman Kevin Danner. “This is a seminar by professionals for professionals, and it’s going to be filled with practical, meaningful information.”

NGFA President Kendell Keith noted that the grain industry has made great strides over the last 25 years “enhancing the safety and health of employees, as well as in complying with ever-expanding and complex environmental regulation.”

“The key to that progress has been a proactive commitment from management and employees alike,” Keith said. “This seminar is an ideal opportunity to continue that commitment and progress. The need for education and training in this area is great, particularly given the turnover of employees within the industry workforce and the continuing challenge to educate and train new and existing employees. You can be sure the program will be extremely relevant, practical and on-point, because it was developed by industry professionals who know the issues and challenges inside and out. I encourage all owners and managers of grain elevators, feed mills and grain processing facilities to participate or send your key operations personnel. This chance only comes around every other year, so don’t miss out.”

The GEAPS-NGFA OMT topics alternate annually between safety, health and environment quality (this year’s theme) and grain-quality management.
