WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
YOUR SUPPORT WILL MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE IN TRAINING WORKERS TO OPERATE EQUIPMENT SAFELY AND KEEP IT RUNNING SMOOTHLY.
Your generosity will also help students at Kansas State University gain practical experience to launch careers in the grain industry. Give back to the grain industry by supporting the GEAPS/K-State Hands-On Training Program!
HOW EQUIPMENT DONATION WORKED
All prospective donors must complete and submit the donor application. Applications will be evaluated by a seven-person panel of GEAPS regular members, academia and industry experts. Applications will be judged on the monetary totality of their application: Equipment Value + Monetary Donation + Course Instruction Donation + Services Donation. Due to facility space restrictions, equipment cannot exceed the size recommendation. Donations of comparable equipment will be considered.
Panel members will consider the following:
- Is the equipment suitable for the program?
- Does the proposed donation correspond to the equipment list?
- Does it meet the needs/requirements of the program?
All applications will be thoroughly reviewed. Companies with the highest combined value of equipment, financial, course instruction and services donations were selected.
KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION
All donations of equipment and funding must be made to the Kansas State University Foundation’s GEAPS/Kansas State University HOT Fund. Expenditures from the fund will be made only for HOT-program purposes.
GIFT VALUATION AND TAX DEDUCTIBILITY
Equipment donors must provide an estimate of the valuation of their donation. The basis for valuation can be a sales quotation or invoice; current market price; and/or an outside appraisal. All donations are tax deductible, but note that if your donation is accepted, the KSU Foundation will not acknowledge the estimated value of the donation. It is the donor’s responsibility to substantiate the fair market value for tax purposes.
