GEAPS is once again partnering with Kansas State University to deliver Hands-On Training for the Operation & Maintenance of Conveying Equipment. Join us at the IGP Institute in Manhattan, Kansas.

This grain handling training course gives participants the chance to work directly with conveying equipment while learning best practices for safe and efficient operations. Building on past GEAPS–K-State collaborations, this program combines practical experience with industry expertise to help professionals grow their skills and make an immediate impact in their facilities.

This opportunity is ideal for engineers, project managers, grain elevator operators, maintenance personnel, millwrights, and safety professionals working in the grain handling and grain processing industries.

About the Course

Over three days, participants will learn directly from five expert presenters in both classroom and hands-on settings. The training combines instructor demonstrations with practical exercises to build real-world skills to immediately apply in day-to-day use.

What you’ll learn:

  • Safe operation, maintenance, and repair of conveying equipment commonly used in grain facilities
  • How to identify and troubleshoot common equipment issues through hands-on practice
  • Practical guidelines for developing and implementing a comprehensive preventive maintenance program
  • Strategies to improve efficiency and enhance workplace safety

Before you arrive:
To maximize the in-person experience, participants will complete three online modules prior to traveling to Kansas. These modules will cover foundational concepts and prepare for the hands-on sessions.


After the Course

Upon successful completion, participants will walk away with the skills and confidence to:
• Install, operate, and inspect conveying equipment used in grain facilities
• Troubleshoot common issues and perform effective maintenance
