Lucas Frye
Lucas is the Founder of Amber Agriculture, an agtech company based in Chicago, IL. Amber Agriculture is focused on helping farmers and commercial elevators manage and market grain assets leveraging automation.
Growing up on a sixth-generation grain farm in Central Illinois, Frye majored in Ag Economics and continued into MBA studies at the University of Illinois. While on campus, Frye was elected by the student body to represent the campus of 44,000 students as the Student Trustee on the University of Illinois Board of Trustees. Experiences across the agriculture value chain including seed production with Monsanto, credit and crop insurance with Farm Credit and agribusiness strategy consulting with Adayana, led him into early-stage enterprise development in agriculture.
Through Amber, Frye has been named Forbes 30 under 30, Crain’s Chicago 20 in their 20s, and best MBAs by Poets and Quants. Amber Agriculture was named best startup by Engadget at the world’s largest tech event, the Consumer Electronics Show, in Las Vegas.
