GEAPS Recognizes Two Outstanding Chapters

GEAPS honored two outstanding chapters at GEAPS Exchange 2019, awarding the Outstanding Chapter Award and Chapter Cup.

The Outstanding Chapter Award went to the Gulf South Chapter. The award is given annually by GEAPS’ Membership Committee at Exchange. Cheryl Lanskink, Comco, Siouxland, Membership Committee chair, helped evaluate submissions.

“Gulf South had an outstanding year. They had very high attendance, they had very creative meetings and they did an excellent job of welcoming new members and non-members to their meetings and chapter, ” Lansink said. “They have a golf outing, and ramp it up with cooks at several holes serving local cuisine. They have a table top show with great door prizes including LSU and Saints tickets. It’s like they take regular meetings and always crank it up that extra notch to give the attendees something extra every single time. Incorporating sponsors into their meetings also helps them achieve that extra level of value, which is a great idea.”

Lansink also said the chapter does an excellent job planning events with other chapters.

Twin Ports won the Chapter Cup. The award is given annually to the chapter that has highest recruitment of new members and retention of existing members. The chapter retained 96 percent of members and swa an eight percent increase in membership during the year.
