GEAPS Launches Regional Leadership Training Program

High-value professional development for front-line leaders coming to Kansas and Iowa in 2026
As more front-line professionals step into leadership roles, the demand for practical, people-focused leadership skills continues to grow across the grain and grain processing industries. To meet that need, Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS) has introduced a new Leadership Training program designed to strengthen leadership capabilities of front-line leaders.
The 2026 Leadership Trainings will be offered in two locations:
- March 11 at Vortex in Salina, KS
- March 25 at CNH Training Center in Nevada, IA
Each one-day session provides interactive learning, peer-to-peer discussion, and real-world leadership tools tailored to the operational realities of grain handling and grain processing facilities. The program addresses the challenges faced by individuals balancing supervisory responsibilities with hands-on work. This includes managing team performance, communicating expectations, and leading with confidence.
Who Should Attend?
The content is designed for front-line leaders, operations and maintenance managers, day-to-day supervisors, safety personnel, and field superintendents. Individuals who play critical roles in operational success and workplace culture will take home actional strategies to immediately apply within their teams and facilities.
Newly promoted supervisors or managers and future leaders early in their careers will especially benefit from attending. GEAPS encourages the participation of young professionals to gain skills and perspectives that enhance career growth.
Meet the Trainer
Each training features a consistent curriculum and is led by an expert trainer, Dan Topf, owner of Topf Business Learning. Topf brings more than 25 years of experience helping individuals and organizations achieve measurable performance improvement. He works with leaders at all levels to build perspective, strengthen teams, and improve decision-making, ensuring the training remains practical, relevant, and directly applicable to participants’ daily leadership responsibilities.
Fulfilling a Key Industry Need
Leadership Training is part of GEAPS’ ongoing commitment to delivering education and professional development that supports the long-term strength of the grain and grain processing industries.
By hosting the program regionally, GEAPS increases access to leadership development while strengthening local professional networks. Participants leave with actionable leadership skills, improved decision-making confidence, and connections that extend beyond their own organizations.
GEAPS extends sincere thanks to the program’s premier and key partners, as well as the host partners, whose support makes these regional Leadership Trainings possible.
The cost to attend is $100 for GEAPS members and $200 for non-members. To register for a 2026 training, visit https://www.geaps.com/leadership-training/.
