Hands-On Training (HOT) Program Emphasizes Learning by Doing

All grain companies need trained and skilled operators and maintenance people. GEAPS and Kansas State University (K-State) have designed Hands-On Training (HOT) Program to train grain workers on real, operating grain conveying equipment.

Program Overview

Over the course of two and a half days, you will work directly on the following equipment:

  • Bucket elevator
  • Distributors
  • Screw conveyors
  • Bin sweep
  • Chain conveyors
  • Belt conveyors

Come Prepared With Pre-Training Modules

Safety and lubrication are key components of the HOT program. Before you start the training, you will complete three hour-long online modules on safety, lubrication and the development and implementation of comprehensive preventative maintenance programs.

2018 Hands-On Training Information

This interactive training will take place December 11-13, 2018 at Kansas State University in the Hal Ross Flour Mill. Attendance is capped at 30 participates to ensure personal attention and sufficient time operating equipment. The course cost is $1,375 for GEAPS members and $1,725 for non-members.
