GEAPS Launches Young Professionals Network
Creating a Community for the Next Generation of Leaders in the Grain Sector
The Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS) is launching a Young Professionals Network to foster development of the next generation of leaders in the grain handling and grain processing industries.
The mission of the GEAPS YPN is to empower young professionals in the grain and grain processing industries by connecting them with networking and professional development opportunities. By building a community of dynamic individuals working toward a common purpose, GEAPS is actively shaping the future of the global grain sector.
“I’m glad to be part of GEAPS’s Young Professionals Network and create more opportunities for people early in their careers to connect with others in the industry,” said Jack Luke, Business Development Specialist at Interstates and member of the YPN Action Team. “There’s so much knowledge and experience within GEAPS, and I’m looking forward to helping build a community where the next generation can learn, contribute and grow together.”

YPN membership is free for those who qualify and is open to all grain sector professionals under the age of 40; applications are being accepted on a rolling basis. Members are required to participate in at least one YPN engagement per year to maintain their membership status.
“The GEAPS Young Professionals Network is an opportunity to make those connections earlier, give emerging professionals a stronger sense of community, and help them build relationships that can last throughout their careers,” said Jackie Hayes, GEAPS Senior Director of Communication, Marketing and Industry Relations. “We want young professionals to see GEAPS not simply as an organization they can join, but as a professional community where they can grow, contribute and help shape the future of our industry.”
The YPN will kick off with an inaugural virtual event on December 2, 2026, followed by a virtual speaker in January, and a YPN Mixer at the 2027 GEAPS Exchange Feb. 20-23 in Kansas City, Missouri.
