GEAPS Offers Scholarships for Industry Workers and Students

Well-trained and versatile employees are always needed in the grain and grain processing industries. GEAPS offers two scholarships to help ensure professionals have the training they require, and to help future workers develop skill sets that help them thrive from the day they start.

Both scholarships are open to industry professionals and full-time post-secondary students pursuing a career in grain or grain processing.

Watch for emails and In-Grain for notice of winners and application periods. For more information, contact GEAPS at education@geaps.com.

Henry H. Kaufmann Memorial Scholarship

The Henry H. Kaufmann Memorial Scholarship is named in honor of Henry Kaufmann, GEAPS’ president from 1975-76 and treasurer from 1977 until his death in 1980. It is designed to provide financial support for those interested in eliminating language barriers in the workplace by learning or developing greater fluency in a second language.

Consideration will be given to applicants who want to develop their second language skills through cultural immersion opportunities. This scholarship can be used to pay for tuition, books, fees, and other educational expenses associated with second language learning at accredited institutions. Students attending institutions outside the United States may apply if their college or university’s language program is formally affiliated with an accredited U.S. school.

Applications are accepted each spring and awarded each summer.  Selection criteria may include the candidate’s commitment to career goals and the case made by the candidate for the proposed course of study.

Harold Reese Memorial Scholarship

The Harold Reese Memorial Scholarship is named in honor of Harold Reese, GEAPS’ 1995-96 president. This scholarship is designed to support continued education in the grain and grain processing industries with two options to apply the funds.

Funds may be paid directly to educational institutions accredited by the United States Department of Education for enrolled students studying grain-related fields. They may only be used for tuition and books. Alternatively, funds may be utilized as credits towards online learning for those interested in taking GEAPS On-Demand Courses.

Applications are accepted each spring and awarded each summer. Scholarships will be awarded based on qualifications and relevance to career goals.
